During the opening of the Rotterdam Architecture Month, we celebrate the launch of the Test Site Materialenwerf: a temporary space for experimentation, encounter and research into circular construction in the Keilekwartier M4H area. The Teste Site Materialenwerf was commissioned by AIR and designed by Studio ACTE.

Alongside the Material Wharf, we are opening the main exhibition The power of community in the Keilepand, developed by the Keilecollectief in collaboration with AIR and assembled with contributions from many partners. The exhibition explores how collective and cooperative initiatives contribute to a sustainable and future-proof city.

After the opening: lecture Estelle Barriol (Studio ACTE)

Following this programme, architect Estelle Barriol will give the opening lecture of the Rotterdam Architecture Month (in English), from 19:30 to 21:00 in the Keilezaal. She will discuss the design and realisation of the Test Site Materialenwerf and reflect on the role of temporary architecture, material experimentation and circular building practices within urban transition.
